Chapter 1: A New Beginning

"Jim! Come Down Here! Professor Elm is waiting for you!" Jim sighed reluctantly and paused his Rock Band on the Wii and went downstairs. He grabbed his cell phone, and it read "New Message From Abby". Jim grunted, this stupid girl wouldn't leave him alone. He grabbed his black jacket and slipped it on as he hustled down the stairs. "Here Jim!", she sniffled a bit. "I can't believe you're growing up..". "Mommmm..." "Aww.. I know.. Ah well.. I knew this day was coming... I was 12 when I left for my journey, but I'm glad you decided to stay until you were 13.. I got to spend 1 more year with you.." "Bye!", Jim tried to scrounge out through the door. "NO! You're not leaving until I give you this..". She handed him a black bookbag to match his Jacket. "Now, this has your trainer card in it, and a Journal. I'm going to keep adding time on your phone, so please call often Jim!"

"BYE MOM." He ran outside and shut/slammed (It wasn't like a big slam, it was in the middle XD) the door, and before he could take a step, bright blue eyes were in his face. "HEY JIM!". "Hey Abby...", he groaned. "I can't wait to get our starter pokemon today! Which one are you getting?!" "I was thinking Cyndaquil..". "COOL! I was thinking about Chikorita."

The two walked together to Prof. Elm's house. "Hey Abby, Jim. I know today you are getting your first pokemon today, but I also have an important job for you. Mr. Pokemon needs you to go get an egg from him and bring it back. But you must take a pokemon with you, so you can choose one of these. Hmm.. Abby, why don't you go first." Abby walked up and grabbed Chikorita, "I will call you, Blade!". Jim then walked up and grabbed Cyndaquil. "I don't think i'll nickname you." "Ahh c'mon", proclaimed Abby. "You've gotta nickname your pokemon, it makes them unique!". "Fiiiine...". Jim released the Cyndaquil, who seemed to act very shy. "I think I'll call you.. Blaze"...

I just noticed the title's colours.

Chapter 2: Mr. Pokemon Awaits!

"Jim, Abby, I need you to head off to Mr. Pokemon. He lives on Route 30, and he has an egg for you to give me. I need this egg now Jim, and quickly, before it hatches. I need to conduct research on unhatched eggs for the Pokemon Science Textbook for the new school being built. So now.. run along.. Oh wait! Before you go, here. I'll give you both a potion.". Jim and Abby both stashed them deep within their bags.

"Now head on off. There may be pokemon you encounter along the way, so be careful." "Thanks Professor Elm!" "Bye Professor Elm!". They walked outside together, but then Abby ran ahead. "C'mon Jim!".

'I could do this faster without you following me..', he thought to himself.

Instead, he ran up to catch up with her. "Wait a sec. C'mon out, Blaze!". A tiny Cyndaquil jumped out of a pokeball, in a flash of light. Jim got down on the ground, and petted Cyndaquil. "HOLY..". Jim's hand was scorched from the flames on Cyndaquil's back. "Gahhhhh. I've gotta be more careful about this little guy... "Let me bring out Blade, C'mon BLADE!". A small chikorita jumped out of a pokeball, in the same sequence as Blaze. "Aww! Look! Blade and Blaze are playing together.". Blade was tossing Blaze with the leaf on his head. "Since Elm had them both, they may know each other already." "Hey Blaze, wanna ride on my shoulder? Blaze looked at Jim reluctantly but then jumped happily onto his shoulder. Blade then looked somewhat jealous, and jumped onto Abby's shoulder. "Awww...". Jim grunted, personally, Abby did nothing but get in the way.

The four together jumped over ledges, until Jim tripped over something. Cyndquil fell down on it's back, and set a blaze to a sleeping Sentret. "SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!". The Sentret woke up, and jumped about 10 feet in the air, shaking it's tail wildly. Then, a nearby pidgey flew into the air, and used gust on Sentret, thus putting out the flame. "OH MY GOD!". "Oh No. Get to the Pokemon Center, Quick!!!".

Jim grasped Sentret, and motioned for Blaze to follow him along. Jim and Abby ran along the path, as Chikorita tried to calm down the disturbed and crying Sentret. Cyndaquil tried to look as innocent as possible, and technically he was, it WAS Jim who offered him a ride on his shoulder. It WAS Jim who tripped.

Jim looked down at the Sentret, and ran quicker every time he took a glance.

Chapter 3: Anxiety

"Chan! Chan!", the Chansey tried to calm down the two panic-stricken trainers. "Chansey's right! Sentret will be okay! You two can calm down now."

Abby and Jim were sweating and out of breath. Every gasp of air they got, they managed to let out some sort of fear. They finally sat down, and calmed themselves. Nurse Joy walked over to the two. "Now, I can understand you were scared, but this situation wasn't as urgent, if you were prepared. There are many methods of curing Burns, like Burn Heals and Rawst Berries. Now, for Burn Heals, most PokeMarts require at least 1 badge, but Rawst berries are everywhere. Here."

Joy handed them a box, and it was somewhat heavy

"This is a PokeAid Kit. Use them whenever you have a problem. Inside is...", she unlatched the white box. "Here's a Potion, an Antidote, Burn Heal, Ice Heal, Paralyze Heal, Awakening, and a Lum Berry. Now you'll never have to be worried of inflicting status onto your pokemon, or innocent wild pokemon. Even though this situtation wasn't very urgent, please be more careful next time! Joy gave a cheerful look, in hopes to rise their spirits, then walked back off.

"I wonder if sentret is okay..", Jim questioned. Abby kept silent, she still wasn't completely calm.

An hour passed, then Jim's phone rang.

"Hey Jim! It's Professor elm, how's everything going? It's been a while, and Mr. Pokemon told me you hadn't arrived yet, is everything okay?" "It was, until Blaze set a Sentret's tail on fire, then a Pidgey put it out, and we rushed it to the PokeCenter." "Hmm.. Well I'm sorry to hear that. Did the nurse tell you what to do next time?" "Yes, she did", Jim nodded like Elm was right in front of him. "Ohh well, I guess I'll leave you to it. Hope to see you soon."

Without saying goodbye, Jim hung up. Joy began walked towards him, with Sentret in her arms. She gave him to Abby, who had tears in her eyes. "Umm, thank you for bringing him here. He's all fine now. Thank you, and have a good day

Jim, Abby, Blaze, Blade, and Sentret all walked away. Sentret then jumped out from Abby's arms, and ran back to the woods. Abby shed a tear there, something told Jim in his mind she wanted to keep Sentret. They all began walked off, until the made a right turn, Jim's stomach growled. "Now I'm hungry... I'll race ya back to the Pokemon Center! Blaze and Jim dashed forward, then Abby smiled, and raced off ahead.

Chapter 4: Exploration!

"Umm.. yea.. I'd like two cheeseburgers.. 2 fries.. 1 diet cola... 1 milkshake.. ummm. whaddya have for the Pokemon?" "Gurrrl! We've got the best PokeCookies this side of Coronet. Here's a sample." The waitress handed her a cookie, and Abby split it in half. She gave each of them a half. Blade looked delighted, but Blaze was unappealed, and drooled at the hot fries going by their table.

"Kay.. add.. 1 order of PokeCookies and an extra fry." The waitress scribbled down some giberish onto her notepad, "Coming right up!" Abby looked down from her menu and saw Jim, texting away. "Who are you talking to!?!" "Austin. He said he just got his Glacier Badge, which leaves him 1 badge away from the elite four. "You mus...", she was cut off by the bangings of drinks on their table. "There ya go! 1 Diet Cola and 1 Milkshake

"Thank you! Anyway, I was thinking..." Abby began spinning her straw in her drink, and Jim looked contently down at his phone. Blaze glanced at Abby, Jim, then Blade, who smiled. Blaze then jumped down from the table, went behind Jim's chair, jumped back onto the table, and struggled to reach the Oreo at the top of Jim's milkshake. Blade chuckled, as Blaze stood on his tiptoes, and fell backwards onto to floor, still without catching Abby's or Jim's attention.

Meanwhile, Abby was going on "You're mom must be so proud of Austin. He's bound to be the new champion of Johto. I've seen some of his battles on the Pokemon Battle Station, his Togetic is so powerful!" "It's a Togekiss now." "Ugh. Whatever. Man.. I'm hungry.. I wish.. What the heck Blaze!

Blaze froze in midair, with the cookie in one hand, and a whipcream moustache on his face. He then chanted innocently, "Cynda!", and jumped back down. Blade couldn't help but chuckle.

"Okay kids! Here's your food!", Jim was decent enough to put his phone in his jacket pocket, then grabbed the ketchup, and drowned his fries and burger in it. Abby picked up a knife and fork and began eating her hamburger like a steak. Jim gave her an extremely dissapointed look. Blaze dug into his fries, like a 7-year old bobbing for apples. Blade and Abby nodded dissapointedly in unison. Chikorita ate her cookies quietly, looking around at the sloppy habits of Blaze and Jim. When she was finished, she hopped down from the table, and nodded for Blaze to follow. He looked down, and followed her leadership. Blade then took a quick glance behind her, and dashed into the Kitchen, Blaze following shortly behind.

It's a good chapter.

Chapter 5: Chaos

"Cynn!!". Blaze was standing on a wobbling tower of about 10 pots and pans, reaching for the cookie jar on the top shelf. Blade look at Blaze and sighed, then used her Vine Whip to grab the Jar. Blaze glared, and jumped down from the tower, causing the whole tower to crash.

Blade, embarrased, ran back to Abby silently, and put the cookies in her bag. Then, blade hurried back to the kitchen, to put the cookies back on the shelf, and came back to Abby.

Meanwhile, the nice waitress now looked stern, and scooped Blaze up in her hands. She walked over to Jim, "You're Cyndaquil just ruined the clean kitchen I had! He ruined the stack of pots and pans, and stole the cookies in the cookie jar! I'm sorry but I don't appreciate this!" Jim grabbed Blaze, "Why?". Blaze mockingly mimicked everything that happened, trying to prove to Jim that he was somewhat innocent, and Blade caused the whole thing! Nonetheless, Jim didn't believe Blaze.

"I'm sorry ma'mn. Is there any way you could let it slide... just this once?. She huffed, "This.. one.. time..."



As the four walked back up Route 30 together, Jim and Abby were talking. "Maybe I've got a troublemaker on my hands." "Apparently you do..", Abby said guilty. Earlier on, Abby noticed the hidden cookies Blade left in her bag..

Chapter 6: Discovery

"Look!" Ten or twelve Ledyba were flying around their heads. Jim and Abby smiled, and kept walking to Mr. Pokemon.

"HELLO!" A short silhouette was waving and calling for the two. They sprinted, a got their in no time.

"Hello children. As you should already know, I study Pokemon. Well, me, Professor Elm, and Professor Oak", he gestured to a man sitting down, "have been working on a Pokemon Textbook for the new school being built in Goldrenrod City. This is a Pokemon Egg Professor Oak brought me. I thought Elm should analyze it, but you need to hurry, because it seems to be hatching decently soon. "Thanks Mr. Pokemon!

"Now children. Before you go, I have a special assignment to give you! Elm recommended you two over all the other trainers in the Johto. As part of this textbook, we need more information on Pokemon. As you go out and explore the world, take this little joker out, and it'll automatically record information on all the pokemon you meet!" Oak handed them each a Pokedex. "Ah sweet!", Jim exclaimed. He flipped it out rapidly and listened to it Analyze his Cyndaquil.

Cyndaquil. The Fire Mouse Pokemon. Cyndaquil has a timid nature. If it is startled, the flames on its back burn more vigorously. Jim made a 90 degree twist on one foot, and analyzed Blade aswell. Chikorita. The Leaf Pokemon. Chikorita uses the leaf on its head to determine the temperature and humidity. It loves to sunbathe.

Jim looked excited, he was ready to explore the world. As they left Mr. Pokemon's house, Jim studied the environment for any trace of pokemon, and used his Pokedex for every new pokemon he saw.

Chapter 7: Confrontation

Everywhere Jim turned, he searched another pokemon.

Sentret.

Pidgey.

Hoothoot.

The thrill of this all was Jim's adrenaline, he thrived off of this rush. Exploration was his caffeine. He kept running, trying to find more Pokemon. Until he bumped into a shadowy man.

"Watch where you're going @$$hole." "Hey! No need to be rude! It was an accident". "Shut up, Blondie". Blade stood up and started screaming at the man, flipping him off with her leaf. She did just behind Abby so she couldn't see it. Jim however saw it, and almost bursted out laughing. "I've got better places to be than with the likes of you. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a league to corrupt." A fire burned in Jim's eyes. It burned as bright as the flames on Blaze's back. In viscous rage, Jim retorted, "THEN WHY DON'T YOU BATTLE ME!?" The man turned around, smirked, and emerged from his hood. "This should be easy."

The man threw his Pokeball, and a Totodile appeared. Jim pushed Blaze forward. Even though Jim was at a disadvantage, he knew the passion him and Blaze shared would overcome the other trainer.

"Totodile, Scratch-Attack!" He ran up and clawed out Blaze's eyes. Blaze made a quick 180, and burned the front of Totodile's face. "Blaze! Smokescreen!". The man began to cough, and Totodile's vision was impared.

"Totodile, find him with Leer!". Totodile's eyes grew bright, and acted as a spotlight, searching for Blaze. "Quick Blaze, before he finds you! Use Tackle!" Before the opponent had time for rebuttle, Totodile was thrown backwards.

"Totodile, use Wa...".

Sirens began to fade in. The quickly grew louder. "Ah crap!", and the mystery man ran away, rushing to beat the cops. Jim looked embarrassed, and Abby nonetheless. Multiple women who looked exactly the same sped past on motorcycles. "Excuse me!" "Sorry!", the exclaimed as they swerved in between Abby, Jim, and their Pokemon. The four of them continued to gaze towards Route 30, still very confused.

Chapter 8


Jim and Abby walked back to Elm's lab. Although they were silent on the outside, they were speaking loudly to themselves on the inside. Who was that dude? Why was he acting so stuck up? Why was he running away from the cops? Jim's phone rang, breaking the icy cold silence. "Jim! It's Elm! Get back here quick, a pokemon's been stolen!"

The call was on speakerphone. Abby heard the conversation, and the two ran to the office. They saw motorcycles lined up, all over the town. Abby stopped to pet the Growlithe's as she passed them. They were cute, and she wouldn't mind having one. They walked inside, and an they were greeted by Officer Jenny. "What happened?". "Well, sadly, a kid in a black jacket came up and stole Professor Elm's last Pokemon. His Totodile. "WE SAW A KID WITH A TOTODILE!" "Really? What did he look like? "It was hard to tell. All we could see was he had a black hoodie, jeans, sneakers. And he had a really bad attitude." "That description matches the guy who stole the pokemon. Which way was he headed?" "Towards Route 30"

"Thank you ma'am. Alright, head out to Route 30!"

"Wait! Miss Jenny, can I ask, where does the police force get those growlithe's from? I would love to go get one because I think they're so cute." "Well, we breed them. And, they gave me a spare egg, in case I saw a trainer who I thought could use it, here you go!" "Wow! Thanks!"

Abby was so happy, now she had a Growlithe on the way. Maybe she'd be a better trainer than Jim one day! Well, it would take time, but she'd find a way.
