I recently recieved an effort ribbon from the woman in Sunnyshore. Does that mean that I have 510 EVs already? Do I still have to worry about which pokemon to battle, or can I battle any pokemon I want now?

effort ribbon means your pokemon has all its EV points. they wont gain any more from battling or anything else.
