Rules and Regulations

Keep in mind that each Gym can have different rules. Be sure to read their official Gym threads! This is just a small clarification post.

This is a derivative of my old Gym post (which is in the Archives) which itself is a derivative of Dragonartist713's Gym post.

Gym battles on Shaychu, unless otherwise mentioned, generally take place with these restrictions:

• Match Type: Single Battle, no restrictions, handicap off
  
• Best of: 1 match 6 Pokémon each (normally all at Level 100)
  
• Species Clause: You must only have one of a Pokémon on your team. Refrain from using too many of the same Pokémon type on one team.
  
• Sleep Clause: Only one Pokémon on each team may be put to sleep by their opponent at a time. This does not include self-induced Sleep moves such as Rest. Once a Pokémon awakes, another or the same one may be put to sleep.
  
• Self KO Clause: If both players are on their last Pokémon, and both players' Pokémon faint as a result of a Self-KO move such as Self-Destruct or Explosion, the player that initiated the move will be the loser of the battle. (This does not apply to moves and items with recoil.)
  
• Evasion Clause: Any move that increases your Pokémon’s evasion stat is banned from use.
  
• One-Hit KO Clause: Fissure, Sheer Cold, Guillotine, and Horn Drill are banned.
  
• Item Restriction: If your Pokémon are holding items, they must be holding different items. The only exceptions are Leftovers and Life Orb, which can be placed on no more than two Pokemon.
  
• Hack Restriction: You may not have any ridiculous Pokémon with hacked moves, stats, abilities, or other illegal Pokemon edit.

Violation of any clause will result in a forced forfeit on your part. Don't do it.
