I love looking back on this thread (the beginning) because those were actually the first drawings I seriously did. I mean, I drew a lot when I was younger or whenever but those were the first kinds of drawings people requested of me that I did xD It's awesome to look back at them and see where can and have grown~~ :3

So, little update then:

I call these guys the ethereal animal deities and they all represent/ uphold a certain morale. Some are good and some are evil and some have mutations and some don't xD

Random things I thought while looking at that post:

I never really understood why people gave animals more than one tail. Does that mean that they have two spines? Or that their spine is split in the middle? If it's the former, ow, and if it's the latter, ow.

Kind of the same for heads, really.

That six-legged dog is kind of creepy lol

Barn owl?? It's like the Hufflepuff of your greater deities, especially when comparing it to the dragon and gryphon. Why not use a more menacing kind of owl? Unless looking harmless is a part of the mythos, in which case never mind.

and that last picture, of course: Oh god I've eaten you

But anyway, your art's amazing and I like to look at it because I can't draw animals for crap lol

admittedly when I drew the owl/ planned it for that section I was inspired by Wan Shi Tong (from avatar the last airbender). Naw he's probably just a little bit bigger than a regular barn owl but yes, three eyes xD I made a whole lore around these animals so most of them are normal looking and some of them have mutations that kind of just mean they're slightly more powerful? the first of all of them was my ethereal tiger, Byu :>



but you raise a good point about the tails/ head thing :0 I actually have never given a heck of a lot of thought into how the skeletal structures would work (except for my six legged friends- i have thought about that one) lol

honestly, I'm in love with this thread. I've gone through accounts on art websites and deleted old pieces from said accounts, but this thread still stands WITH some of the first art I ever showed to internet dwellers. This thread literally shows my progression as an artist over a span of like... at LEAST 5 years.. it's like the only place I can go to see it all in one neat pile @_@
