Re: WARNING BARS. Should the whole system be deleted?
i think their pointless, if a good member does 1 little mess up they get rated on a scale? their good efforts are completely forgotten and if bad members constantly break little point rules, they just get little points added? i think it should change based on the person

It mostly is based on the person.
If they are usually good, but just messed up a litte (like posting in a dead topic, which are in most cases accidents and we mods should have moved it by that time anyways) I normally wont give any warning bar. Just say 'hey, if its a really old topic that looks fairly dead look at the dates'
Verbal warning only, no real issues.
On the other hand, if its someone we know who constantly breaks the rule (and knows they are breaking it) its a little addition to the warning bar. If they ignore the verbal warning and continue with the action, warning bar addition. If they continue, they wont need to get up to 100% and will usually just be banned for a few days to chill out.
It just depends on the person, and mod/admin usually. The thing is, we gotta remember to take away the warning bar after the time is up as well.

Re: WARNING BARS. Should the whole system be deleted?
Absolutely not.
The site is out-of-order enough (no offense), and if we just get rid of any kind of punishment, the site will be even worse. If the warning bars are deleted, there is nothing stopping them from breaking the rules. Oh sure, you can ban them, but that would be the only form of real punishment, and not only would members notice the unfairness of being banned for one simple rule, but the offenders will know that these observations will hurt the site even more by giving it the appearance that people are banned for such small things. The warning system serves as a medium between the small rules and banning. All half-way decent forums have them, why shouldn't we?

Re: WARNING BARS. Should the whole system be deleted?
I said no
but maybe some things need to change on what exactly is worthy of a warning bar raise. For example, if someone accidentally makes a second post. It should be like.. three double postings = warning bar raise. And we might need to become stricter too. People might misbehave knowing we only give warning, and keep doing so until they are banned. Ex in the CB, most members know that they don't get banned from the CB until three kicks. That's giving a misbehaving member three chances to be rude/ flame, swear etc instead of a straight ban. Members might take advantage of that freedom.
So i think the warning bars should stay.. its more the rules on how/ or when to raise the bar that should be worked upon.

But what i dont get is why be strick? I come on here to relax and let lose, its like being in school and iam in a school for a hole week. its a hole weak with "Watch what you say chrono" and "chrono tuck you shirt it" "you forgot you book chrono i will see you in detention" yes i am that boy in school. So i may take a bit of a break and let loose and for once not watch what i say, i mean i wouln't post pr0n or anything because this is a childrens site, and most people here no about swearing anyway, and electivire for what a 12 year old i always think hes older..... but this is just my thought on the subject of rules.
i say yes deleat it, its seems like a pain to keep changing it and modifing it.

Its not too much of a pain, if we even feel the need to change it. For the most part we just want no excessive breaking of the rules. I come here to relax too, but I still remember that it doesnt make it right to do whatever I please. After all, it is a kid's site that we try to keep family friendly. I dont swear, talk nasty, etc, though it also matters who all is in the chatbox. If I know everyone is older I'll tend to crack more mature jokes and such. I also have the power to clear the chatbox which I will do frequently if I or anyone else is having a mature conversation, since anyone could log on at any moment and for all I know someone younger could log on and read something they shouldnt.
Such things shouldnt be posted on the forum itself though, since its harder to keep clear so often xD
The warning bars are also a great way to see if someone got in trouble with another mod while I was gone. Then when I warn them, I can check their warning bar. If its fairly high I can say they must be a constant rule breaker, and either give them more to the bar or ban them. Or if I change someone's warning bar and just forget to mention it in the staff forums, someone else may see the slight up in warning and know they got in trouble and give them another verbal warning, or put more onto their warning bar. Its like leaving sticky notes for others^^

i say no
we need some kind of warning system in effect and a way to keep track of who has been warned how much.
every forum has a warning system of some kind
