Here's a really epic gengar set that works great late-game.

Gengar @ Petaya Berry
4 HP - 252 Speed - 252 Sp. Atk
Timid
-Substitute
-Shadow Ball
-Sludge Bomb
-Thunderbolt

So, the basic thing of this set is to switch into a Mach Punch or Extreamspeed or anything that can't hurt gengar, use Substitute, and then substitute down to 1HP. There the Petaya berry will activite, giving you about... Around 525 Sp. Atk. There you preceed to own untill you lose or they switch in a blissey

K well i have used this set befor. It has been very helpful to me for a late game sweep but if t-tar is still in the game the gengar is done for.

With Timid Nature with Petaya Bery Boost your Sp Atk will go up to about 448.75 Sp Atk. If The T-tar is Ev'd 252 In Ho It can take any hit from gengar.

Anyways the set is pretty good.

Hmm. The nice thing about this guy is substitute, you would not BELIEVE the amount of people who consider Jolteon a free breloom switch-in. They spore while I sub, allowing me to get a free charge beam in and a nice 'lil signal beam OHKO on breloom, celebi, and tons more. Make sure the HP is divisable by 4.
