Project: Shaychu League

Shaychu is inactive and I'm bored of this non activity so I'm trying to get everyone involved into making the site like a game

(If anyone actually wants to turn this into a game then we would have to work very hard and stuff like Cirrus said)

Basically just want to make....

-A Map of the Shaychu Region (Needs a name as well)
-New Battle Sprites for Leaders, E4, Champ
-Custom Gym Badges (Needs names to go with badges)
-Elite Symbols (Also needs names))
-New Pokemon (If this actually gets more ppl on the site we might make a fake pokemon)
-Vs Gym Leader Music
-Vs Elite 4 Music
-Vs Champion Music
-Names of Cities/Towns
-Landmarks
-Battle Frontier?
-Contest?
-Gym Leader Titles (When read on sign outside, Ex. Jasmine, The Steel-Clad Defense Girl)
-If we should make this into a game?

Those on board with the idea
Ace, Dragonartist713, Cirrus, Mercury, Bibarel, Jack

Those against it and think it's a waste of time


Will add stuff, tell me your opinion on this.

If you think it's a good idea? Bad idea? Any other suggestions to the list? Etc.

also, regions have other landmarks like mountains and lakes. well need those

Sounds decent. With some help, this kind of thing could be made into a real Pokemon game, but it'd take a lot of work and dedication.

If you plan to turn it into an actual game, then you go to some of the Pokémon Hacking Sites where they do that sort of thing and show them the idea, and the site it's based around. That way, those who are interested in helping might join the site, which will then in turn make everyone be more active, cos this is a good idea and we don't want the people coming from that/those sites to leave.

I googled for tools a while back to hack Pokemon. That's all the tools. If we're gonna turn this into a game, be sure to download 'Elite Map' cuz it comes with lots of good tools.

And I'd love to help. This is why I was having those Create-A-Pokemon things a while back, for a Shaychu Pokemon Game. But it failed because Variant was the only one who did anything. Hah.

EDIT: I request an admin to make a sub-forum just for this project, and make a group with the project leaders (Not participants, just leaders) so they can moderate said sub-forum.

EliteMap has some good tools that come with it, but I personally use AdvanceMap cuz easier. I wonder how many people actually read that XSE scripting tutorial that I posted way back in oh......November? The one that nobody read? Might come in handy.

I'll make the forum, but I just don't wanna watch the project be the next cool thing for 1 week, then nobody posts and by the end of the month, people forget about it.
I'd like to have a few more people be willing to help out other than just Socceryle before forums and announcements and plans and junk start forming. I'll help if needed.

If I could help in any way I would try to.

I can make the music, but to be compatible in a game, it needs to be in 16-bit. And making music for video games isnt very easy... you have to code every note... yeah.

I know how but... it takes a lot of time.

Great Justin! Music is important in the Shaychu Region, but I know it'll be difficult thinking of all those mixes, like Wild Pokemon, different cities, Gym Leaders, Elite 4, Champ, Etc. Maybe you can find someone to help turn the music into 16-bit.

Mercury you can help by submitting ideas, helping with spriting, or anything else to help. But ideas is a good thing to get use started as well, basically you can do anything that would help the project, or help one if us with the steps in the process.

Quan great use for being Asian, you can start with ideas for pre-vos, evos, starters or legendaries. Mercury might as help you think of ideas when you're running out.

Cirrus and Espe, could you make like a group for people who are involved with this, or the leaders in this project. PS. I'm one of the leaders cause I'm online alot, Leaders of the project should be the active dedicated people. Also helping with the project wouldn't be a bad idea either.

There's a program named Sappy that can do this, but it's really old, and I haven't gotten it to really work....

I'll add the group, Ace. After some more work gets done on this and people seem to be somewhat dedicated, I'll add a forum for it.

And can we use trainer/pokemon sprites from the future games? Cause I like editing HG/SS/PL/D/P trainer sprite to look More Random than before, but I can make splice some to look pretty decent

There are no HGSS sprite editors that exist at this point in time (they might never exist), so doing that would be near impossible. ATM, the only tools that I know of are a trainer Pokemon editor, a Pokemon info editor (base stats, level-up attacks, abilities, etc.), attack editors, a starter editor and a title screen cry editor. Yeah, not much.

See if any exist via Google if you get a chance, but IDT there are enough tools out there to really do anything.

There's always the option of coding the entire thing from scratch. Yeah? No? Okay, I'll shut up.

I'm interested in this and I'll do whatever I can (which is honestly everything in this thread) so just ask me to do something and I'll try.

Of course, if this ISN'T a game, I can still do everything. Being a jack-of-all-trades has its up-sides.

List everything you've already made and we'll see how far we get.

Chrono, you can submit a map for the region with a name to go along with it. and you can help Bibarel think of the Starter Pokemon
