Bamboo Capture Pen and Touch Tablet

I recently got a Bamboo Capture Pen and Touch Tablet.

For those who don't know, it's a pad that you can magically "write" on in order to draw on the computer or just use it as a mouse.
For artists, I was wondering what your opinions are on it or items similar to it?

Yeah I have two of those, but I'm fairly certain they're both older models. None of my pens look exactly like that...well, also, one's black and small and the other's white and big, so color-wise they don't look like that either. Maybe I can scrounge up some pics of them or something, I'll go check.

EDIT: Yeah, they're both older models: the original Bamboo and the Bamboo Fun; both are Pen and Touch. Anyway, my ex has a Cintiq and my best friend has an Intuos so I like to think I know what I'm talking about.

Seeing as how they're nearly essential to complex artwork, drawing tablets are pretty important and useful. That being said, although Bamboo tablets are nowhere near the best (at all), they're still very good for the price and a lot better than alternatives. Well, from what I could tell, anyway. Wacom generally makes the best of the best when it comes to graphics tablets.

However, I really don't use them at all any more. Most of the art I've recently done (like the most recent pictures on my deviantArt and my profile picture here) were done on my 3DS. Still, I find them terribly useful. Bamboos aren't that expensive, either, which is nice compared to a Cintiq.

Yey! Now you can do better digital art! (Actually some people do really well with a mouse, which takes so much talent in my opinion) BUT EY EASY ROUTE! The artist route!

I used to have a wacom bamboo fun tablet- about the same thing as the one you have there but a version that's give or take 3 years older. About .. Actually i have really bad sense of time lately so i dont even know anymore.. But recently I've gotten the medium size wacom intous 5. I've been doing serious digital art for the past 3-4 years so I felt I needed to step it up a notch..

Watch out for things like.. it 'unplugging' itself. Also, if you don't like the touch feature (which I personally turn off perma because it interferes when I draw) then I know that sometimes, the featre to turn it off gets messed up.. Like you'll try to turn it off but you're comp wont let you. At that poin just restart the computer. Also, don't put your comp on sleepmode all the time or w/e. Always restart or shut down whenever you arent using it for long periods of time because I find that the tablet does wonky stuff if it's 'on'(with the system) for too long. i'd say unplug it in that case but I'd sometimes had problems if I unplugged it and pluggged it back in once the comp was started. So i say plug it in before you turn the comp on in the first place. And i had some ofthese issues with my old tablet so it makes sense cus t was old, but some of these issues have risen with my new one aswell

Over all great product though it comes in handy for more than just drawing too, sometimes. Wven if you dont like drawing and like editing stuff, NBD because it's overall awesome. You can tell that I like it and probably can't lie wihout it anymore

Also, cintiq is a supposedly good product (it has the screen and everything) but it's a matter of preference some professionals still prefer tablets over the cintiq.

My brother had one of those, but he broke it due to frustration because he couldn't think of anything o do with if after a while...
