Which Pokemon Generation has the worst starters?
In my opinion, generation 5 had the worst starters design-wise.
I actually liked the gen 6's starters until they evolved into their second form.... I need to wait and see what the final forms of the Generation 6 starters look like before I completely judge them. (Nobody really cares about the middle evolutions anyway)
Here's my list from best to worst:
1. Gen 1: They have to be number 1, they're the originals and who doesn't like Charizard? Blastoise has freaking canons coming out of his shell and Venusaur actually used to be one of my favorites when I was little
2. Gen 3: My favorite starter came out of this gen, Treecko/Sceptile! Also Blaziken is so cool-looking and it's an Uber! so i herd u liek mudkipz
3. Gen 2: They're okay, I love the whole Typhlosion evolution chain, Feraligatr & totodile are pretty cool. I don't mind the meganium chain, these guys gotta be high up for nostalgia purposes
4. Gen 4: Meh, I like penguins but the Empoleon line doesn't do penguins justice, actually I take that back, they're not that bad... Torterra is just a turtle version of venusaur, although i like turtwig. Infernape is decent, but chimchar is just no
5. Gen 5: I've lost faith in Pokemon. I don't like Serperior or his pre-evolutions at all (Snivy is just a rip off of Treecko). I kinda like Samurott but I would like him a whole lot more if he didn't have that beard and mustache... and I don't like his pre-evolutions. I like Tepig but don't care for Pignite or Emboar.

Re: Which Pokemon Generation has the worst starters?
I really don't like Generation 2's starters. Cyndaquil's evolution line is pretty cool but it doesn't really make up for the fact that Feraligatr looks really silly and the Chikorita line is nearly completely pointless.
Also, as I am nearly exclusively an NFE player, I care about the middle evolutions. Meanie.
My list:
Also, as I am nearly exclusively an NFE player, I care about the middle evolutions. Meanie.
My list:
- Generation 3, in which Torchic is amazing, Treecko isn't a stupid design, and everybody has herd u liek Mudkipz.
- Generation 6, in which there is a fire fox (that isn't Vulpix), a frog (frogs are awesome), and Chespin, who is adoracute.
- Generation 1, in which nostalgia reigns. I don't like the fact that they needed two turtles (or, at least, I think Bulbasaur is a turtle, and I refuse to believe otherwise), and Bulbasaur's line is actually really silly.
- Generation 5, in which it probably would be even more pathetic except Tepig is a pig and is thus awesome enough to make it higher than it probably should.
- Generation 4, in which Game Freak gets lazy by capitalizing on the popularity of penguins (in the year of release), creates another Fire/Fighting, and adds another grass turtle.
- Generation 2, in which all of the starters are absolutely useless (and mono-type), Chikorita gets its butt handed to it constantly throughout Johto, Cyndaquil is the quintessential Pokemon Asian, and Totodile gets fat.
Re: Which Pokemon Generation has the worst starters?
K here's mine I guess
1. Gen 4 - Sorry but I actually started off with these guys (since my first actual pokemon game for myself was pearl) so I found them pretty decent. Empoleon was my first ever starter and level 100 so I came to love the water/steel combination. Also, yes, fire fighting was overdone, but Infernape puts up a good fight. I'm not particularly fond of turtwigs evolution chain so I don't have much to say about it.
2. Gen 3 - I actually like all three, probably Mudkip's chain and Treeko's chain more than Blazikens (don't hate on me, but I'm not a fan of Blazikens design, as much as it is a good pokemon) Scpetile looks the most b@dass to me though. Overall good starters.
3. Gen 1 - Classic Bulbasaur Charmander and Squirtle. Though I like many, unfortunately, shun poor Bulbasaur. Personally Squirtle's chain is my favourite, but I'm actually going to go with Charmander int he X and Y games because I like Mega Charizard better than mega Blastoise >_>
4. Gen 2 - I agree with 7 that they're rather useless with their monotypes, but I have so much love for Typhlosion. Feraligatr is good too and Maganium the grass type taking up third again.
5. Gen 6 - Still have little... enthusiasm for the gen 6 starters. From the looks of the second evolutions, I'm steering towards Froakie now but like... I WAS SERIOUSLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SOME COOL LOOKING STARTERS but I feel like pokemon keeps going cutesy instead of total kick butt :'C We won't be able to know until they release the final evolutions, but I'm still pretty disappointed with these guys
6. Gen 5 - I completely hate Emboar, lets start with that. The rest of them are just fine.. I'm neutral about them. But I think of all the generations I like the whole lot of them the least. They could have done a lot better with Samurott (like.. he could have NOT been on four legs, COME ON) and Servine is just okay. I can deal- at least it's different than other grass pokemon. But you can't fathom the dislike I hold for Emboar. Tepig is cute, but emboar pisses me off. I even think shiny emboar is almost okay, but it could have been SO much better.

Re: Which Pokemon Generation has the worst starters?
1. gen 1 - because they were the originals and look the most believable. and they had charizard
2. gen 2 - still believable and very cute. typhlosion
3. gen 3 - blaziken was cool but i favor sceptile more, and they introduced weather
4. gen 4 - turtwig couldve been cuter, empoleon was awesome but infernape got annoying to battle against.
5. gen 6 - i really hope fenniken doesnt go fire/fighting, please no. chespin's evo looks derpy to me, froakle looks french when he evolves. ill probably pick froakle or fenniken (if said final evo is acceptable)
6. gen 5 - tepig... so much disappoint << snivy was ok. the maps was so linear ;-;
im really looking forward to the fairy type they announced, though

Re: Which Pokemon Generation has the worst starters?
Yup. Def Froakie. If they confirm the final evo to be greninja, I might consider keeping him nfe though because I'm not a fan of any of the leaked final evolutions >_<
Re: Which Pokemon Generation has the worst starters?
Really? I love Froakie's last form. But I strongly dislike chespin's and fennekin's.

Re: Which Pokemon Generation has the worst starters?
I would have to say gen 5. I was not a fan of Tepig to say the least. The other two were not very memorable to me, but I am rather particular to Fire.
