I haven't paid attention to the metagame since about two weeks after ORAS was released. Admittedly, I never really did pay much attention to it, but that was the last time I heard anything about it at all.

Yeah, I haven't really left. I've basically been running this forum for a few years now, since it's very much dead and I'm apparently a necrophiliac. I do take month-long breaks nowadays, which is nice since I can expect absolutely nothing to happen on this forum in the meantime.

Also, yes, nobody is on here any more. Except for me, Rk9, Shay, and occasionally the random spambot, but none of us have actually been on in a while. I think it's safe to say that Shaychu's activity is pretty much gone, along with apparently all the other forums I frequent which makes me feel like some sort of harbinger of death. Woo!

We just can't let it totally die, apparently
I have a lot of feelings about this website. I'm not ready to grow up yet.

Pretty soon the forum URL will change from shaychu.com to its original URL, shaychu.forumotion.com

I'm not interested and don't have the funds to continue paying for a domain name, so it'll be best to just let it die, I think.

It's probably for the best. It's not worth it to keep paying for the .com

I translated it and then re-encoded my response mentally without a guide. So I messed up in a spot, whatever. I'm not 6.12.21.5.14.20 like you are.

I also had to write a Python script just to read the quoted message, you butt. That was a good half an hour of my life I won't be getting back. (actually it was ten minutes but whatever)

i'm imagining you writing a code to translate that... i only took one programming course in high school so i dont know much but im imagining like... a whole bunch of if statements? maybe one like.. (can't concentrate- sorry, im tired) if (entered number) = number it would be (corresponding letter) or.. would it be a bunch of let statements...? let 1 = a etc..? If you copy and paste what i typed, do the periods between each number mess the code up..? do you have to go in and delete them?

It uses Python 3. Also encrypting doesn't actually work properly. Also, yes, your other punctuation completely messed it up, so I just deleted them when inputting them, since all I care about is the letter translation. Although it does rely on the periods to differentiate letters from words, so that's good.

To sum up the program: it turns all of the letters from a to z into a string, then it either a) changes each letter of its input into a number, or b) looks for the position of a letter in the string using the number provided and returns the letter. Of course, Python's string is a bit different from most languages' interpretations of strings, but whatever.

Object-oriented programming is the wave of the future, maaan. You gotta go with the flow and learn to get some modules into your code, maaaaan.

edit: the last thing I wrote last post just says "i'm just going to write this to spite you." It's a Caesar cipher, rot-7, and I added it because the whole thing reminded me of my childhood passion for cryptography.
