Want to know If this team is good...

Kay so this forum area was dead so i decided to try and put some life in it by introducing maybe the first topic in the "team building" centre

I've tried to come up with a team, I need to keep traing the guys in it, but I hope to have these pokemon:

Fire: Arcanine
Dragon: Latias/Dragonite
Electric: Manectric (^^ shinyz, YEY)
Water: Floatzel (shinyz too)
Dark: Umbreon (might be shiny or may not be >.< i have shiny and non shiny)
Ground: Tyranitar. (he's good cuz he is some Dark too ^^)

Okay Some of them, I do know the moves they have... but I dont think I should give too much away incase I battle you with this team someday XD. So I just want to know, with overall stats, if this team is good or not. If you dont think it is, please advise me of a pokemon I could use. THNX!

We would need to know the moveset, EVs and hold item of the Pokemon to rate it effectively. From what you posted now, you seem to have 3 physical sweepers, one tank and only 2 special sweepers (assuming you choose Latias). Maybe you should drop Floatzel for another tank. Floatzel is really fragile, and has problems in OU.

which was the tank? and i like floatzel DX but kay. whos another tank? oh and they mostly hold shell balls and leftovers. dragonite wud prob hold the dragon fang and latias (depending on which i use) and floatzels got mystic water... umbreon wud probably have razor claw and manectric...magnet..? i guess

You really, really, really shouldn't use items like Dragon Fang and Mystic Water. They only increase your attacks by x1.1. There are MANY other items that would be better, such as Life Orbs, Even though they get damage recoil, the purpose of sweepers is to kill, not to last the whole battle. That's what tanks are for.

Get rid of Floatzel for someone like Empoleon or Suicune, who can be made tanks, but still have decent attacking power. Try this:

Empoleon makes a great tank, being resistant to many attacks, and having decent defenses. With Swords Dance boosting your attacks, in one turn, you have a sweeping tank, which can be tough to beat. And with Aqua Jet for priority when you need it, this set can go well, assuming you don't switch it into a super-effective hit.

Just get rid of Manectric. It doesn't really work in the OU environment. It's frail, and suffers big-time from priority moves. Using this team with the Empoleon, you have a huge weakness against Ground and Bug-type attacks. So dump Manectric for a physical sweeper Dragonite. It gives you an answer to Ground attacks, and can learn plenty of physical moves. You usually don't have to worry about Bug-type attacks, except when Heracross comes into play, and Dragonite can take it down well with a Flying attack. And since most Heracross' are Scarfed or Choice Banded, you might be able to pull of a Dragon Dance on the switch. So go with a standard 252 Atk 252 Spd Dragonite.

O.O i have a dragonite and empoleon. my empoleon has drill peck, earthquake, hydro pump, and hydro cannon. my dragonite has thunder, blizard, fireblast and dragon rush (but i want it to eventually have outrage) .... sho are my sweepers, tanks and whtvr the others r?

Am I safe in assuming that you know how to EV-train? EV-training is one of the biggest factors in the strength of a Pokemon. If you didn't Ev-train them, you're better off getting a new Dratini or Piplup, and giving it the right EVs.

actually since the 4th generation came around the items like mystic water and dragon fang give your attacks a 1.2x boost but still y do that when you can have life orb give boosts to all attacks and if i remember right it gives a 1.3x boost at the cost of some HP
