The Gym Rules Empty The Gym Rules

Post by Administrator Sun Nov 30, 2008 9:48 pm

These rules may look long and confusing so if you have any questions, please ask an admin.

Basic Summary: If you beat 8 Gym Leaders and have received 8 or more Gym Badges from them, then you may challenge the Elite Four. Each Elite Four member will give you a symbol once you have beaten them, once you have 4 symbols, you may challenge the champion. If you win against the champion, then you will be known as the new Shaychu Champion. (Your badges and symbols show up on your profile)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

note: THERE WILL ONLY BE 8 GYM LEADERS, ONCE THEY ARE CHOSEN NO ONE ELSE MAY BE ONE UNLESS YOU CHALLENGE THEM FOR LEADERSHIP OR THEY RESIGN!

Rules to the Gym Leaders: You get to pick your own rules but if you don't, there are standard rules at the bottom of this thread. You may not use any ubers PERIOD. Only one exception is made for the dragon gym to be able to have the uber, Garchomp. All of your pokemon have to be the type of your gym, but you are allowed to have one Pokemon that is not of that type (EX: If its a rock gym, all Pokémon used by the leader must be part rock, but you are allowed to have ONE-TWO pokemon that is not rock type). The diversity gym can have a combination of any types. A gym leader must have at least 2 Pokémon for the gym. Swapping gym type is allowed. You may resign from your gym and go be the new leader of an empty gym or challenge leadership for another. REMEMBER! You CANNOT tell a challenger what pokemon/moves they can and can't use. (OHKO moves and self KO moves don't apply)

Badges: For your gym you must select your badge to give out. It must be the right type of badge, but since there may be multiple badges for the same type, you must choose which one will be for your gym (ex: there are 3 water badges, you must choose which one will be the badge for your water gym.) To see the badges plus more info go to the badge thread.

Gym Badge Challenges: Challengers can use any types against gym leaders for gym badges (except for a team of all super-effective Pokémon against theirs, be fair!), but gym leaders decide what type of match they do and which rules apply to their gyms. Once you beat them, you will recieve a badge in your profile. After you have beaten 8 or more gym leaders and received 8 or more gym badges, you may compete against the elite four. If you beat the elite four you will get a ribbon for being the champion along with being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Gym Leadership Challenges: The challenger and leader will have two battles to determine who the new leader is. Both of you will battle with your mono-type Gym Teams, for the first battle. On the second battle, you will each battle with your regular teams. Or vise-versa. If the challenger beats the leader, Gym Leadership is then passed on to them. Once you are the new gym leader, you may change the rules, type, and/or the badge. If there is a tie (The leader wins one battle and the challenger wins the other). Then you may battle again for the tiebreaker using either of the teams that you both decide on.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following rules/settings are the standard rules that are to be used in all Gym Pokémon matches. The Gym Leader may have their own rules, but may leave them at the standard which are the following.

Shaychu Standard Rules:

•Match Type: Level 100 Single Play (unless Gym Leader says else wise)

•Best of: 1 match 6 Pokémon each (unless Gym Leader says else wise)

•Species Clause: You may not have more than one of the same exact Pokémon on your team. Just refrain from using too many of the same type pokemon on one team.

•Sleep Clause: Only one Pokémon on each team may be put to sleep by their opponent at a time. This does not include self-induced sleep techniques such as rest or effects. Once a Pokémon awakes, another or the same one may be put to sleep.

•Freeze Clause: Only one Pokémon on either team may be frozen by their opponent.

•Self KO Clause: If both players are on their last Pokémon, and one player performs a Self KO technique such as Self-Destruct or Explosion, and both players' Pokémon faint as a result, the player that initiated the move will be the loser of the battle. This does not include techniques or items that produce recoil.

•Evasion Clause: Any moves that increase your Pokémon’s evasion skills are banned from use. So Double Team, Sand Attack, Flash, ect.

•One Hit KO Clause: Any techniques that produce a One Hit KO on the opponent are banned from use. No horn drill, sheer cold, or fissure.

•Item Clause/Restriction: That means you cannot have more then 2 type of item. Each Pokémon must be holding a different (or no item) then the other. No HAX items either.

•Uber Clause: You may have no ubers in you're team.

•NO Hacked Pokemon: You may not have any ridiculous Pokémon with hacked moves, stats, abilities, or other. Pokesav'd Pokemon with legit stats, legal movesets, and etc are fine.
