Hmm it really Depends On The trainer and what they are looking for...

If you are Looking for a HP base...
Venomoth, Masquerain, And Mothim

Attaack...
Mothim

Defense...
Dustox

Sp attk...
Mothim, Beautifly, and Venomoth

Sp Def...
Dustox

Speed...
Venomoth

I think Prof. Ash is more of a flying bug type professor..
