Re: Staff Reformation
It's hard to decide on anything when neither of the two founding admins care about this topic.
Re: Staff Reformation
I'm still open to suggestions on replacements, and such. I changed the rules thing around a bit, and will start changing a few of the buttons on the site, since the white ones look a bit unfitting. I already put up the Post Reply topics, and such.
Re: Staff Reformation
But the problem isnt the buttons, It's the inactive admins!!

Re: Staff Reformation
Alright, I get the whole admin thing, but are there any complaints about the mods? I might have an idea or two on who to replace any inactive/don't-give-a-'flying-frito' mods...
Re: Staff Reformation
theres only three mods right now. theyre all relatively active from how i see things and i havent seen anything bad lately from them.
Re: Staff Reformation
Don't forget about the CB mods o.o they have powerz too. They might be LIMITED, but (some) people come here and look at the CB first. And if the CB mods aren't doing their jobs, that makes the site look bad

all forum admins and mods are CB mods. and kass and mew are also cb mods. 10 total. whenever im there they seem to be working well
Kureseria wrote:Maybe you should appoint another mod. 3 is quite a small number.
this is also a relatively small forum. it may help but im not sure if additional staff is what we need. maybe though
Re: Staff Reformation
Even though this thread wont do anything, because the *head* admins aren't paying attention. I still think we need to get our concerns out.
Re: Staff Reformation
Kureseria wrote:Maybe you should appoint another mod. 3 is quite a small number.
i personally think a 4th forum mod is a good idea(but not REALLY needed), but the problem is also in finding good candidates that are active.
Re: Staff Reformation
Pinky, the two other less-headdy admins are willing to do stuff, though. I think a fourth mod could prove useful, but only if they can help remedy the situation that we're already in. Has Juliacoolo talked much on here? I know him from my site, and he's pretty trustworthy.
My bigger idea is that we have a Jr. Mods group. I have this on my site, and it works really well. Basically, we have one or two people as Jr. Mods, who can only moderate one forum (and have less influence on the site image), and we can still get the moderation and help benefits of normal mods. Such people can still ban people (Forumotion thing that we can't really prevent) and edit profiles, but only real mods can moderate the entire site, and we can make it so that they can't see the mod/admin forum if we really wanted. CB mod status is also an option we can control for these people. Any contradictions to this idea? I think it's just what Shaychu needs ATM.

Not that I know of. Whenever i'm here he isn't and when he IS here when I am he doesn't talk, like at all
Cirrus wrote:Any contradictions to this idea? I think it's just what Shaychu needs ATM.
I have no objection to this o.o
Re: Staff Reformation
So we're making Shaychu more and more like Pokerealm, then? That disgruntles me quite a bit.

How so? What works on PR can work on here. Given the mod situation, a Jr. Mod group seems like a great solution IMO. PR isn't the only site on the Internet with Jr. Mods. Also, it's not my fault that Jack decided to use Forumotion.

Even though you know him from PR, it would be unfair to give the spot to him considering he just joined over current shaychu members who have been active for a while.

I actually agree with this. There's no need for Shaychu to be similar to PokeRealm. Uniqueness makes forums epic.

The main problem is Jack and Ash not doing anything. That's really all we need to get taken care of. And until that happens, this topic shall not die.

Re: Staff Reformation
I'm not suggesting the Jr. Mod position because it's like PR; I suggest it because it seems to remedy the whole 'power' situation well. From what others have posted, part of the issue is that some mods don't do anything, and hurt the site image. While that would lead to suggestions on demoting them, there aren't many other good candidates for new mods, and so on the staff part, it's hard to demote them. A Jr. Mod position means that there is less 'influence' on the site, but the administration can still be helped by them; it's a win-win for both parties. Let's face it - People as normal mods won't do much more than a normal mod will do, so the degree of assistance isn't really harmed, and the lower position means less authority.
Also, just cuz the head admins don't care about the site, doesn't mean the rest of the staff does. It can't be helped that the head admins don't engage in the site, so why not improve on what we have already instead of wallow in how the head admins don't help?

Re: Staff Reformation
well to be frank, chrono shall put his opinion in....
leave it...the site is doing well as it is, you dont wanna become on of those massive forums, where the CB is flowing with noobs, and you never get to talk to your friends as much, since there are to much annoying noobs, if you do desiced on a new admin, this change may come, not saying if espeon gets it, it will come, or who ever gets it...(sorry if this was always mentions i was a bit lazy to read the whole post)

Re: Staff Reformation
Chrono, I doubt Shaychu is gonna get that high up in the forum business. I merely hope to do what's best for Shaychu by doing whatever it is that we decide to do with the other mods/admins. Nobody else likes this Jr. Mod idea?
Re: Staff Reformation
iam just saying what we have is good..or yet least i like it how it is, iam just saying why do we need to dramatically kick our admins because there inactive, we have our laughs, and if we change it you gotta know that there could be some negative effects to the change...just a thought really..

Re: Staff Reformation
I like it Cirrus. I think we could give it a trial run for say a month. If it works, we leave it for another month or whatever to decide who should be the actual Jr. Mods, then bring it into play. If it fails, we leave it. Simple as that xD
